Buckle Mapping using Laser Scanning

Image-empty-state.png

Initial inspections of some of the swash bulkheads on an FPSO identified areas of buckling, however it would have taken a significant amount of time to accurately measure all areas using a string line, and subsequently post process the results to identify which areas exceeded the limits.

Key Achievements:

In conjunction with the laser scanner provider and the inspection company, FSC were able to develop a method of interpreting the data from a laser scan in a way that was able to be related to the deflection limits agreed with class, and resulted in the remediation of only the areas that were buckled in line with the class guidance.
